Every workstation matters

Warmth where work happens

A workshop often contains several areas: workbenches, machines, assembly tables and places used only occasionally. We therefore start with the tasks and people working there. Does the whole space need to stay at temperature, or is targeted heating of specific work areas enough?

Workbenches & assembly

For staff who stand or sit in the same place for long periods, we consider even heat distribution around the workstation.

Machines & maintenance

Around machines, maintenance areas and changing tasks, we take account of obstacles, walkways and available mounting positions.

Temporary work areas

If tasks regularly move, a mobile heater can be a practical addition. Its position must suit the space and the work carried out.

Electric infrared heating

Targeted warmth for your workshop

Infrared heaters transfer heat to people and surfaces within their radiant coverage. This allows fixed workstations to be heated directly. Quickly perceptible warmth is an important characteristic of short-wave heating.

Heaters can be wall- or ceiling-mounted in suitable positions. Mobile versions are also available for flexible use. The chosen model determines mounting height, clearances and suitable controls.

The technology must fit

Fixed heaters, panels or air heating?

The right technology depends on the desired comfort, layout, use and conditions in your workshop.

Short-wave heaters

An option for targeted warmth at workstations used at specific times. We assess radiant coverage and placement for each area.

Long-wave panels

Long-wave heating is also included in the comparison. Mounting height, available space and operating hours help determine whether this technology fits.

Electric air heating

If the air temperature of the entire space is the main priority, we also assess electric air heating and air distribution.

For temporary use, we can consider mobile infrared heaters. Does your workshop have adjoining offices? We assess these spaces separately in the proposal.

Your layout as the starting point

A heating plan for your workshop

A plan brings together work areas, heaters and controls. It clarifies where heat is needed and how the heating will be used.

1. Identify work areas

Send us a floor plan or sketch showing workbenches, machines, doors, walkways and staff workstations.

2. Determine placement

We assess height, electrical capacity, available fixing points and obstacles affecting radiant coverage.

3. Use and controls

Working hours, occupancy and preferred operation form the basis for controls that fit day-to-day use.

Controls for each work area

Options vary by heater. Examples include separate switching, timed operation and power control. Compatibility between heaters, controllers and the electrical supply is part of product selection.

Energy consumption depends on power and operating hours. To compare running costs, we also consider the energy tariff and how the existing system is currently used.

Practical questions

Frequently asked questions about workshop heating

These are the main points for preparing a suitable proposal.

Can I heat just a few workbenches?

This is possible with targeted zone heating. We assess the dimensions of the areas and the positions of staff, machines and other obstacles.

Should I choose a fixed or mobile heater?

A fixed workstation may suit a permanent installation. For changing tasks, we consider mobile heaters and suitable placement outside walkways and work areas.

How much power is needed?

We determine power from the space, work areas and conditions. Floor area alone is not enough: height, insulation, open doors and use also matter.

What should I consider with dust or moisture?

Include these conditions in your enquiry. The protection rating and design must suit the application. Also mention any specific requirements for your work area.

What maintenance does my heater need?

Maintenance and inspection depend on the model and operating conditions. We follow the manufacturer’s instructions and consider access to the heater.
